It's a challenge for Australia to break new ground.

The highest peaks have already been conquered.

We're talking about the squad that has won seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to six more T20 titles, and once went over three years unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, the ones sought by the achievement hunters, are the only things left for a side that has achieved everything.

The fact it required until Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase exceeding 300, taking back their record for the biggest in the women's 50-over format, is, in truth, a testament to the bowling attack that have represented Australia over the last half-century.

It is hard for their batters to possess a record if not provided the possibility.

Finally, the consequence of Australia allowing 330 runs was skipper Alyssa Healy getting a chance to deliver her latest masterpiece.

Originally famous as the teenage relative of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after Australia couldn't capture either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups from the prior year and has seen it all through 15 championship-filled years since.

A T20 championship victory came three months after her debut and seven international trophies have followed from 10 tries across formats.

The tough gloveman was in attendance in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final setback by India temporarily stopped the run of success.

That loss "pushed us to rethink our standards," Healy said this week.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the title decider and was awarded tournament MVP. She ensured her country would not come up short.

If this latest epic knock exceeded that prior achievement can be debated.

Certain people claim the case for championship match pressure. Different voices suggest with the challenge that comes when facing a record target and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What's definite is this hundred was far harder to see coming.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 happened while she led the batting statistics, but this performance came after six matches in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've been watching me in the nets, it's been a frustrating experience because it appeared I lacked timing whatsoever," commented Healy.

"But once you step out on the field, your competitive nature kick in and you just lock into the contest."

Healy's competitiveness has continuously been her great strength - and a priceless quality in replacing iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, out to the 22-year-old seamer in all three matches, but this time it merely gave Healy's motivation.

A single came off the opening delivery and after that Healy was underway.

"The possibility to play and face the challenge with her and merely enjoy the moment in that regard, sort of got me going," stated Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 balls - her fastest at a World Cup - and her century in 84 deliveries while she attacked short-pitched balls, hitting 21 fours and three maximums.

By the time she was dismissed the team needed 66 additional runs at a run-a-ball - an achievable target now demanding an easy conclusion.

"Pursuing 330 is uncharted waters so I'm pleased we have the assurance to do that now," stated Healy further.

"Ideally we won't need to do it another time but, should it happen, we are confident we can do it."

That comment will be the ultimate thing Australia's opponents at this championship want to hear.

Over the past five days a sense they will succeed regardless of circumstances has grown stronger - this success succeeding success over Pakistan by 107 runs despite being 76-7 at one point.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a meeting with old rivals England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final place may well be secure.

During that phase they exited the previous year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - a game Healy missed because of torn tissue in her foot as she led her country for the inaugural occasion at a major tournament.

So great is her will, she afterwards commented she wished she had played through the pain.

Yet even as she afterwards confessed those physical issues have delayed thoughts of retirement, this championship is expected to be her final tournament as skipper in one-day cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a world championship as leader.

Success in India would take her to the summit of her ultimate challenge.
